Szerző áttekintést nyújt az elmúlt 10 évben Magyarországon, anyanyulakkal végzett kísérletek főbb eredményeiről. Ugyanakkor nem volt célja, hogy a teljességre törekedjen. Négy fő kutatási terület eredményeit dolgozza fel, amelyek napjainkban a kutatások középpontjában állnak. Ezek a következők: az anyanyulak tartása, tenyésztése, a magas környezeti hőmérséklet hatása és a biostimuláció. Az áttekintés egyúttal főhajtás is azon kutatók és kutató csoportok előtt, akik és amelyek nyulakkal, főképp anyanyulakkal végeznek kísérleteket, hozzájárulva ezzel a magyar nyúlágazat fejlesztéséhez.
