Abstract
Sijoitustoiminnan historiallista kehitystä ja sen muotoutumista nykyiseen muotoonsa tarkasteltiin. Tavoitteena oli analysoida keskeisiä tapahtumia ja kehityskulkuja, jotka vaikuttivat rahoitusjärjestelmän ja sijoitustoiminnan evoluutioon. Erityistä huomiota kiinnitettiin varallisuuden käsitteen muutokseen eri aikakausina sekä rahan rooliin näissä muutoksissa. Tutkimus toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena, jossa hyödynnettiin laajoja historiallisia lähteitä. Tarkastelu ulottui esihistoriallisista ajoista nykypäivään, kattaen muun muassa vaihdantatalouden varhaiset muodot, rahajärjestelmien syntymisen, osakeyhtiöiden ja pörssien kehityksen sekä modernin sijoitustoiminnan piirteet. Tuloksissa havaittiin, että sijoitustoiminnan kehitys oli monivaiheinen prosessi, johon vaikuttivat taloudelliset, poliittiset ja sosiaaliset tekijät. Raha toimi keskeisenä varallisuuden mittarina ja vaihdon välineenä, ja sen merkitys muuttui teknologisen kehityksen sekä yhteiskunnallisten muutosten myötä. Johtopäätöksenä todettiin, että sijoitustoiminnan ymmärtäminen edellytti sen historiallisten juurien tuntemista. Rahan ja varallisuuden käsitteiden kulttuurinen ja taloudellinen muutos tarjosi näkökulmia nykyisen rahoitusjärjestelmän taustalle. Raportissa käsiteltiin lisäksi sijoitustoiminnan kulttuurisia ulottuvuuksia ja niiden vaikutusta taloudelliseen ajatteluun.
