Pengkajian ini dilakukan di Kabupaten Dairi Provinsi Sumatera Utara pada bulan September 2022 sampai dengan Februari 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penggunaan tanaman penaung tetap berjenis Lamtoro Varietas Tahan Kutu terhadap tingkat serangan hama PBKo dibandingkan jenis Varietas Gong. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis Uji Sampel Independen t-test (Uji T) untuk melihat perbedaan antara rata-rata dua kelompok sampel yang independen. Adapun data yang diambil dan diuji yaitu jumlah buah terserang hama PBKo dengan kriteria bagian tengah yang berlubang hingga menembus biji bagian dalam dan jumlah pokok tanaman kopi yang terserang hama PBKo. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Lamtoro Varietas Tahan Kutu lebih efektif digunakan untuk mencegah buah terserang hama PBKo dan jumlah pokok terserang. Lamtoro Varietas Tahan Kutu mampu menekan jumlah hama PBKo pada tanaman kopi 4,49 kali lebih tinggi dibandingkan Lamtoro Varietas Gong.
