Abstract
Le roman policier a proliféré au cours des dernières décennies en Espagne. L'un des sous-genres les plus représentés est le roman de procédure policière, qui met en scène un policier ou un corps de police avec un réalisme supérieur au récit de détective privé. Cet article retrace la généalogie de ce sous-genre, dont l’émergence coïncide aux États-Unis avec la mise en œuvre des politiques du New Deal, et en Europe occidentale avec l’implantation de systèmes démocratiques dans la période de l’après-guerre. Il analyse ensuite son adaptation tardive au contexte espagnol, où le roman procédural n’a pu fleurir qu’après la fin de la dictature franquiste, pendant laquelle les représentants de la police étaient associés à l’idée de surveillance et de répression.
