Abstract
La Guerre d’Espagne et ses suites ont inspiré dès 1939 des œuvres policières françaises. En lien avec les événements contemporains de la période d’écriture, les romans produits de la fin des années 1930 jusqu’à la mort de Franco en 1975 mettent en scène la lutte souvent désespérée des combattants antifascistes dans un contexte de répression féroce. Par la suite, la distance avec les événements va mener les auteurs à se tourner vers le genre du roman policier historique ou à aborder les conséquences actuelles de la guerre civile en Espagne et en France. Dans tous les cas, les héros et les victimes sont des femmes et des hommes qui luttent à leur niveau contre les forces réactionnaires, dans la tradition du polar de gauche français qui se poursuit jusqu’à nos jours.
