Abstract
Cet article se concentre, dans une perspective d’analyse de données textuelles (linguistique de corpus), sur les usages et contextes du mot démocratie dans un corpus constitué de 3015 romans policiers, publiés de 1945 à 1989, en France. Les liens qui rapprochent la politique de la fiction sont ainsi décrits à travers le prisme d’un mot dont le sens ne peut être réduit à un sens univoque et qui est au cœur des enjeux des luttes politiques. Nous analysons ici ces luttes qui traversent l’histoire de huit séries policières très différentes d’un point de vue éditorial et politique.
