1Le travail de Steffie Van Neste repose sur le constat suivant : si la curiosit au coeur de l'criture d'Alexandre Dumas pre a t souvent remarque [,] personne n'a explor ce thme dans toute son tendue (26).Cherchant combler cette lacune fondamentale, l'ouvrage est compos de trois parties - La curiosit savante , La curiosit hermneutique et La curiosit publique -qui explorent trois types de curiosit qui dominent au XIX e sicle (28), chacune au moyen de trois chapitres.Si des prcisions supplmentaires sur ces types de curiosit organisant le propos auraient t utiles ds l'introduction, la structure de l'ouvrage a t soigne et celui-ci adopte une approche pdagogique qui rend la dmonstration trs efficace.
