Abstract
Si le polar espagnol, depuis le début du xxie siècle, semble avoir succombé dans sa veine la plus commerciale à la vogue du thriller, quelques auteurs, dans la droite ligne de Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Juan Madrid ou encore Francisco Gónzalez Ledesma, s’approprient le modèle du roman noir pour proposer une lecture critique de l’évolution de la démocratie espagnole. C’est le cas, en particulier, de l’écrivain canarien Alexis Ravelo, mort prématurément en janvier 2023 à l’âge de 51 ans. Sa série consacrée au détective Eladio Monroy, publiée entre 2006 et 2021, est profondément marquée par l’effondrement économique de la crise de 2008, l’espoir d’un renouveau démocratique suscité par l’événement du 15-M et la frustration des Espagnols indignés face à l’institutionnalisation et à la verticalisation du parti Podemos. L’étude se centrera sur cette série policière, chronique désenchantée de l’espoir déçu d’un renouveau démocratique, comparable dans son intensité comme dans ses modalités à celui suscité par la transition démocratique espagnole.
