Après avoir introduit la notion intrigante de robotique sociale, nous présentons les éléments fondamentaux d’une évaluation éthique de cette technologie. Nous proposons une évaluation en termes de bonheur ou d’épanouissement humain, tout en soulignant les difficultés qu’elle comporte. Il faudra en effet trouver une définition acceptable de la notion contestée de bonheur, ainsi que de la nature de nos relations avec les robots sociaux. L’article se conclut par une ébauche d’évaluation qui souligne l’importance de certaines pratiques sociales pour la réalisation du bonheur et qui met en garde contre les dangers que la robotique sociale pourrait poser pour la reproduction de ces pratiques.
