Immaginare futuri con le parole, scritto da Vera Gheno e pubblicato da Einaudi nel 2024, propone una lunga e articolata riflessione sull’amore per la lingua, attraversando con seria e accattivante leggerezza territori della filosofia del linguaggio e della sociolinguistica. Già nell’esergo, Gheno introduce – scegliendo una citazione di Marcel Proust – la prospettiva dell’amore come «l’estensione [dell’essere amato …] a tutti i punti dello spazio e del tempo che ha occupato e occuperà». La citazione proustiana ci fa comprendere, come è confermato poi dalle pagine che seguono, che l’amore per la lingua, che favorisce l’indagine linguistica, investe e avvolge la fenomenologia della lingua in tutte le sue realizzazioni.
