Why this work is in the frame

A frame that forgets how it found something cannot be audited. These are the routes that admitted this work.

No Canadian affiliation. An affiliation-only frame, the usual design, would never have seen this work. It is one of the works that make the case for inverting the frame.

Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The principle of transit-oriented communities (TOC) is to integrate transit, residential, and commercial spaces, enhancing city neighbourhoods and creating more complete places to live, work and play. The city of Toronto is expecting development of several TOCs in the next 10 years alongside the delivery of new rapid transit projects. In some cases, a TOC building can be an overbuild, with its structure built above the transit station. This can lead to some of its reinforced concrete shear walls being discontinued at the station roof. This paper describes the seismic design for one such prototype 27-storey reinforced concrete TOC structure supported at level 3 by the transit infrastructure. The study shows the design is governed by the requirement in NBCC 2020 to prevent the formation of a weak storey, where the storey below must have a strength greater than that of the storey above. A methodology is presented which can be used to quantify storey shear strength. The approach helps determine if additional strength is required in the station structural elements to prevent the formation of a weak storey. This study finds that for the prototype structure, the resulting design forces to meet the weak storey requirement far exceed those determined following traditional linear dynamic analysis results.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
