Abstract
La història de la recerca arqueològica a Roses és llarga i complicada, plena de vacil·lacions, d’aturades, d’intensos moments de perill que feien pensar en la desaparició física d’un conjunt que s’acabava de declarar monument historicoartístic. I, tanmateix, a partir de 1945, amb més o menys continuïtat i dedicació, les campanyes d’excavació, de neteja, de consolidació, de diferent intensitat i durada, han estat una constant. Aquells treballs permeteren recuperar una quantitat extraordinària de material arqueològic que, per diverses raons, no fou publicat o només ho ha estat puntualment, i que estava en perill de romandre en els llims pels segles dels segles. Aquesta publicació que teniu a les mans enceta una nova col·lecció que pretén omplir aquest vuit i proporcionar a investigadors, erudits i interessats un cúmul de dades que, d’altra manera, es perdrien per sempre
