Abstract

Qu’est-ce qu’un site archéologique ? Peut-on, d’emblée, considérer un lieu de sépulture comme un site archéologique ? Ces questions sont notre point de départ pour aborder la problématique de traitement des restes humains en différents contextes, en tenant compte des implications de ce genre de découverte à l’ère des nouvelles technologies. Sans perdre de vue que nous travaillons dans un contexte autochtone, nous aborderons les différentes positions des lois provinciales et fédérales sur le patrimoine ainsi que celles des communautés cries en relation avec les découvertes de restes humains et notre rôle en tant qu’archéologues dans la guidance et le soutien aux communautés.
