Abstract
Résumé Malgré qu'on s'intéresse de plus en plus au sens du lieu, il demeure insuffisamment compris dans sa complexité. Le sens d'un lieu varie en effet selon la nature et la portée de nos rapports et interprétations, et donc selon ses fonctions identitaires et nos sentiments à son endroit. Des fonctions et sentiments qu'on n'aborde que partiellement. Après avoir présenté les principales lectures qu'en font la géographie, la philosophie et la psychologie environnementale qui s'y intéressent tout particulièrement, cet article propose, au moyen d'une grille des processus d'identification à l'œuvre et des sentiments qui leur sont associés, une conceptualisation du triptyque sens du lieu‐identité‐sentiment pour mieux dégager et articuler les liens fondamentaux qui unissent l'être humain à un lieu et, ceci entraînant cela, pour mieux assumer notre condition territoriale .
