Abstract
The purpose of this application, under Article 81.1 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature, is to conserve current usage of the genus-group name Milesia Latreille, 1804 by setting aside Art. 69.1 and all type designations for this nominal genus and ruling that Syrphus crabroniformis Fabricius, 1775 is the type species by subsequent designation of Stephens (1836).
