Les échecs subis en 2014 par l’islamisme dans l’aire arabo-musulmane annoncent-ils son déclin et l’autonomisation du politique à l’égard des autorités religieuses ? Ou masquent-ils la réalité de sociétés dans lesquelles l’autonomie du politique, qui suppose l’État de droit, en est encore à son début ? Selon l’auteur, sans tomber dans le piège du culturalisme, il faut revenir à l’imbrication du religieux et du politique dans les sociétés musulmanes pour comprendre l’assise sociale de l’islamisme, sa longévité et sa force de pénétration.
