Cet article présente le récit et l’analyse critique d’une intervention en éducation relative à l’environnement expérimentée par l’autrice au printemps 2024. Mis en œuvre sous forme d’une activité ouverte d’apprentissage (un projet d’élève en pédagogie ouverte et interactive), le projet d’intervention Projet dehors a été réalisé entièrement à l’extérieur, sur plusieurs semaines, par des élèves du deuxième cycle d’une école primaire alternative de Montréal. L’analyse de l’intervention vise à mettre en lumière ses bienfaits pour la personne enseignante et ses élèves ainsi que les stratégies mises en place pour favoriser les apprentissages dans un environnement naturel, dont la participation des parents. Des pistes d’amélioration sont également partagées afin de rendre la pratique plus efficace et encourager d’autres personnes intervenantes en éducation à l’expérimenter. L’analyse réflexive s’appuie également sur le témoignage d’enseignantes ayant expérimenté cette pratique et, surtout, sur un ensemble de références documentant des interventions similaires en ERE, leurs principes généraux et leurs effets.
