Abstract
En 2010, Roland Monpierre publie une BD qui raconte un épisode de l’histoire de la vie d’un héros français, noire et guadeloupéen pendant la Révolution française (1793), en utilisant un style franco-belge profondément ancré dans le colonialisme (Delisle, McKinney). Pour dépasser cette contradiction entre le contenu progressiste (le rôle clé d’un Noir dans une France alors encore pro-esclavagiste) et la forme conservatrice (le style franco-belge des années 60), il utilise des techniques narratives qui sont favorisées par la culture caribéenne comme la mise en scène et en image de l’oralité, l’interactivité, le « tricksterisme » et l’humour. (Confiant et al. 1989).
