Abstract

O presente artigo tem como objetivo central analisar o recente dinamismo da expansão do cooperativismo agropecuário do Sul do Brasil, para as regiões produtivas do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. Visa também iniciar uma compreensão de como cooperativas consolidadas na região Sul podem influenciar na transformação dos sistemas produtivos e a reconfiguração territorial no Centro-Oeste. A metodologia baseou-se em pesquisa bibliográfica, análise documental de dados institucionais e levantamento das cooperativas que atuam no estado. Os resultados conclusivos evidenciam que a expansão está articulada a demandas de mercado e políticas de modernização agroindustrial, considerando que a região Centro Oeste vem sendo alvo de grandes projetos de logística que irá aproximar ainda mais o mercado brasileiro com o mundo. Esse processo de expansão representa não apenas uma alteração econômica no estado, mas, também uma redefinição das dinâmicas produtivas e territoriais no agronegócio regional.
