Abstract
A book on late fascism that does not engage the current neofascist thinkers leaves the reader with an abstract understanding of fascism and not a concrete sense of the forces arrayed against progress. Empiricism has its uses if it roots theory in the soil rather than allowing theory to skim over social forces and abstract them without the necessary mediations. This paper is part of a series of responses to Alberto Toscano’s book Late Fascism: Race, Capitalism and the Politics of Crisis.
