THIS ARTICLE PRESENTS AN IN-DEPTH EXAMINATION of metal artefacts and their production in the region of Murcia (Spain) during the Late Middle Ages. The primary research aim is to investigate these objects within their archaeological context, as well as the spatial distribution of the workshops, and the role of specialised artisans within the broader socio-economic landscape. The study approaches the production of the metal objects from an historical-archaeological perspective, focusing on two urban contexts: the city of Murcia, as the kingdom’s capital, and the town of Lorca, located in a frontier zone of Castilian territory. Particular attention is given to the analysis of metal artefacts recovered from a context of exceptional archaeological value: the late-medieval Jewish quarter of Lorca Castle (14th–15th centuries). Emphasis is placed on the spatial distribution, typology, and functionality of artefacts within domestic settings, specifically household XV, with the aim of identifying widespread productions and defining the composition and characteristics of metal assemblages in late-medieval households.
