Critical Engagements with Alberto Toscano’s <i>Late Fascism</i>

Abstract
This commentary discusses Alberto Toscano’s reading of fascism as a multilayered phenomenon that is deeply imbricated in capitalist dynamics and his engagement with Black and anticolonial theories of fascism. Drawing on these contributions, we argue that this approach is adequate to grasp the connections between fascist ideology and colonialism, as well as between liberalism and fascism. Finally, and inspired by migrant and Black radical organizing against fascism, we reflect upon what this means for the antifascist struggles of our times. This paper is part of a series of responses to Alberto Toscano’s book Late Fascism: Race, Capitalism and the Politics of Crisis.
