Abstract
In response to the expansion of ongoing political mayhem, ruthless capitalism, and ecological catastrophes across the globe, this issue of PUBLIC , produced in collaboration with Andrea Fatona from the Centre for the Study of the Black Canadian Diaspora, explores the various physical, metaphorical, and conceptual ways in which home is created, experienced, negotiated, and transformed. With thoughtful contributions from interdisciplinary artists, scholars, poets, educators, historians, and griots spanning North America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and Africa, they offer a generous reconceptualization of home past and present.
