Novel Embedded Metal Via in Dielectric Split Ring Resonator Structure to Enhance Isolation for Full-Duplex Applications

Abstract
A novel design, termed Embedded Metal Vias in Dielectric Split Ring Resonator (EMVDSRR) is introduced in this paper to address self-interference drawback in Full Duplex (FD) systems. The novel design is designed and simulated to operate cross multiple frequency bands using HFSS. The EMVDSRR is operated at five frequency bands while absorbing electromagnetic waves within band regions. The coupling reduction between transmission and reception antennas is significantly improved by positioning The EMVDSRR between them. The isolation is increased up to 27 dB between two antennas by using EMVDSRR structure compared to isolation without EMVDSRR structure. The proposed structure is demonstrated electromagnetic wave absorption of up to 95 % of incident waves. With these features, the EMVDSRR is well suited for applications such as Full Duplex 5G/6G applications and stealth technology.
