Cet article analyse Là où je me terre (2020) de Caroline Dawson, qui retrace l’exil d’une enfant chilienne au Québec à la suite de la dictature de Pinochet. L’étude met en lumière la « normopathie » (Ehrenberg), entendue comme le processus par lequel l’école et la langue française imposent une intégration aliénante, marquée par la violence symbolique (Bourdieu) et l’effacement de l’héritage culturel. Toutefois, la mémoire fragmentée se révèle un espace vital de résistance et de réinvention identitaire (Ricœur, Halbwachs), capable de transformer l’oubli en ressource créatrice. Enfin, l’écriture autofictionnelle, envisagée comme une cartographie rhizomatique (Deleuze et Guattari), convertit la dépossession en reconquête symbolique, en tissant passé et présent afin de faire de l’exil non plus une disparition, mais une poétique de la mémoire et de l’identité.
