Abstract
The article analyzes the list of musical works published by Bolesław Koreywo’s Kyiv–Odesa publishing house in the second half of the 19th century. It examines the life and professional activity of the company’s owner, Bolesław Koreywo, as well as the details of his relationship with Mykola Lysenko. The list of 64 authors includes six foreign composers who were born and died in Western European countries; nine composers whose identities have yet to be confirmed; twenty-two composers about whom no information could be found; and twenty-seven composers who lived and worked in Ukraine. Special attention is given to authors whose identities require further confirmation. The difficulty of tracing information about each artist reflects the distance that must still be overcome to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the region’s musical culture of that period.
