Abstract
El envejecimiento poblacional y el crecimiento de las ciudades han llevado a la necesidad de tener que transformar nuestra sociedad para adapatarla y hacer de las ciudades un ambiente mas amigable con las personas mayores. Este trabajo describe el proceso de diagnóstico del grado de amigabilidad del municipio de Ibagué (Tolima-Colombia) basados en las guia de ciudades y comunidades amigables con las personas mayores de la Organización Mundial de la Salud y el protocolo de Vancouver. Dando un diagnóstico cuantitativo y cualitativo, encontrando la percepción de las personas mayores de aspectos negativos, aspectos positivos y propuestas de mejora, sirviendo como insumo para la realización de un plan de acción, teniendo en cuenta 8 áreas de investigación-acción propuestas por la OMS.
