Abstract

Data is currently being conducted using Prolific system. Study materials have not changed from the SONA sample. The purpose of the study is to still create a comprehensive hate crime scale, with protected and non-protected scale factors. Participants will rate whether a hate crime offender should be punished more or less than a offender who commits the same crime, but not motivated by hate. Convergent and discriminant validity will be tested with the Hate Crime Beliefs Scale, Right Wing Authoritarianism scale, Right Wing Popular Nationalism scale, the short Social Dominance Orientation scale, the Generalised Antisemitism scale, Islamaphobia scale, Old-Fashion Racism and Modern Racism scale, Victim Blame scale, and the Toronto Empathy scale.
