Abstract
Résumé Pour mieux comprendre le Développement Durable, la Responsabilité Sociale des Entreprise et le processus de changement du compromis social qu’ils traduisent, les auteurs de l’école de Montréal de la RSE ont développé le concept de Nouveau Mouvement Socio-Economique. Ils l’ont fait en s’appuyant sur celui de Nouveau Mouvement Social d’Alain Touraine. Ce concept, développé dans le contexte du post-fordisme, peut-il être utilisé pour comprendre l’articulation entre le social et l’économique dans d’autres contextes historiques ? Et si tel est le cas, quels éclairages ces exemples historiques peuvent-ils apporter sur les problématiques du développement durable ? Je prendrai comme exemple la philanthropie au tout début de la révolution industrielle dans laquelle plusieurs auteurs ont vu un précédent à la RSE contemporaine.
