Abstract: The article explores the Hellenistic reception of mime in Theocritus and Herodas, viewing mime as character-driven, popular, humorous, performative art that imitates its contemporary world. This parallels modern stand-up comedy. Abstract: Le chapitre explore la réception hellénistique du mime chez Théocrite et Hérondas. Il définit le mime comme un art joué centré autour de son personnage, populaire, humoristique, qui imite le monde qui lui est contemporain. En cela, il ressemble à la comédie stand-up moderne.
