Introdução: A Dismorfia Muscular (DISMUS) é um transtorno caracterizado pela preocupação excessiva com o volume corporal e desenvolvimento dos músculos. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a prevalência de susceptibilidade à DISMUS entre homens praticantes de atividade física em academias do centro da cidade de São Paulo. Materiais e Métodos: Foi aplicado um questionário adaptado (MASS) e foi analisada a razão B/P (circunferência do braço contraído dividido pela circunferência da panturrilha) para identificar o risco de DISMUS. O IMC dos participantes foi calculado e foram aplicadas perguntas referentes à alimentação dos indivíduos. Resultados e Discussão: Foram avaliados 51 homens fisicamente ativos, com idade média de 29,1 anos. Observou-se que 54,9% dos participantes apresentavam excesso de peso. Segundo a razão B/P, 35% dos participantes apresentaram provável risco de desenvolver DISMUS e 27,5% apresentaram risco do transtorno pela pontuação do MASS. Conclusão: Aproximadamente um terço dos participantes apresentaram risco de DISMUS de acordo com um dos parâmetros aplicados e 12% apresentaram risco segundo os dois parâmetros.
