Abstract
Tarkastelemme tässä artikkelissa Suomen evankelis-luterilaisen kirkon rippikouluissa vuosina 2019–2024 kerättyjen kyselyaineistojen valossa nuorten suhdetta kristilliseen uskoon ja rippikoulun vaikutusta siihen sekä heidän uskoonsa liittyvissä näkemyksissä tapahtuneita muutoksia. Kyselyyn on vastannut näiden vuosien aikana yli 100 000 rippikoulunuorta. Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat rippikoulupoikiensitoutumisen kristilliseen uskoon vahvistuneen tarkastelujaksolla ja se on tullut selkeästi yleisemmäksi kuin tyttöjen. Pojat kokivat rippikoulun myös vahvistavan uskoa useammin kuin tytöt. Tuoreimmassa, vuoden 2024 aineistossa, myös tyttöjen sitoutuminen kristilliseen uskoon lisääntyi. Tytöt myös kokivat aiempia vuosia useammin, että rippikouluaika oli vahvistanut heidän kristillistä uskoaan. Tyttöjen myönteisyyden lisääntymisestä huolimatta aiempina vuosina syntynyt ero poikiin säilyi selkeänä. Tutkimus osoittaa myös sen, että vahvimmin uskovat nuoret asuvat todennäköisimmin suurten kaupunkien keskusta-alueella, eikä maaseudulla.Artikkelissa pohditaan näiden muutosten taustalla olevia syitä.
