Abstract
O foco deste texto é o conceito de interculturalismo como foi concebido no Quebec por Gérard Bouchard, coordenador, juntamente com Charles Taylor, da Commission des accommodements raisonnables. O interculturalismo é comparado com o conceito europeu de interculturalismo e com o conceito canadense de multiculturalismo. Interculturalismo é compreendido como o modo mais eficaz de lidar com os encontros culturais no Quebec, sociedade onde o francês é a língua da maioria, embora seja uma língua minoritária no Canadá. Assim, seu status pede proteção especial tal como a lei 101, que determina que os imigrantes enviem seus filhos a escolas francófonas.
