Abstract
This thesis aims to advance the debates on sexuality and gender based on historical dialectical materialism and Marxist social theory, pointing to possibilities of dialogue between Judith Butler's philosophy of gender and some central categories of Marxian thought and the Marxist tradition, notably historicity, materiality and reification, as well as the interpretation that the philosopher gives to interpolation in Althusser. It also dialogues with Roderick Ferguson's queer of color critique, in order to highlight sexuality as an indispensable analytical category for criticism. Based on theoretical-methodological proposals, the thesis seeks validation by offering a queer Marxist interpretation of LGBTQIA+ social movements in Brazil, especially with regard to the challenges to defending the rights of this population in the context of neoliberal capitalism, dialoguing with the analyzes contemporaries of Pierre Dardot and Christian Laval, Wendy Brown and Nancy Fraser. It is also analyzed, as a form of theoretical-methodological validation, the political constructions and operations of the Brazilian extreme right in attacking the rights of the LGBTQIA+ population
