Abstract
Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal a elaboração de um manual didático para implementação de Salas Ambiente de Geografia em diferentes contextos escolares, visando contribuir com a qualidade do ensino da disciplina por meio da valorização do espaço físico como recurso pedagógico. A pesquisa parte da experiência vivenciada em uma Escola Cidadã Integral (ECI) da Paraíba, onde observamos a presença (e posterior retirada) dessa proposta metodológia nos documentos oficiais das ECI, além de suas limitações estruturais e formativas. A investigação parte de uma discussão histórica do uso de espaços específicos para o ensino de Geografia, como os Gabinetes de Geografia propostos por Raja Gabaglia (1930) e Zarur (1941) no início do século XX, até as propostas mais recentes de Salas Ambiente defendidas por autores como Penin (1997), Almeida (2007) e Leontsinis (1960). A pesquisa também analisa criticamente o modelo das Escolas Cidadãs Integrais, articulando-o ao contexto de reformas educacionais influenciadas pelo ideário neoliberal, conforme apontam Laval (2004), Freitas (2014) e Rodrigues e Penha (2022). O estudo diferencia os conceitos de Sala Ambiente e Sala Temática, frequentemente confundidos, e argumenta que a adoção de Salas Ambiente pode potencializar a aprendizagem significativa ao integrar materiais didáticos à organização do espaço escolar . Como produto final, propomos um manual com orientações para estruturação e uso pedagógico dessas salas, adaptável a diferentes realidades escolares.
