Este estudo avalia a disponibilidade de dados estatísticos desagregados das compras governamentais dos Estados Unidos, do Canadá e da União Europeia. As compras governamentais são objetos de negociações para o processo de formação de áreas de livre comércio como a Alca, o Mercosul e a União Europeia. Assim, o estudo mensura a dimensão das compras governamentais dos países selecionados para identificar o grau de relevância do tema para a negociação brasileira. A principal conclusão deste estudo exploratório é a possibilidade de dimensionar os mercados de compras governamentais e obter os dados de forma desagregada. Os resultados apresentados preliminarmente aqui sugerem a importância do tema nos processos de negociação em curso.
