Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o sentido do discurso dominante das NTICs, bem como os efeitos desse discurso na educação. Para isso, analisamos os discursos dos alunos-professores sobre a educação on line. A pesquisa foi realizada por meio de entrevistas semidirigidas com doze professores universitários que participaram como alunos do curso Desenvolvimento de cursos on line utilizando o TelEduc, realizado pela Alfa (Faculdade Alves Faria) e UniEvangélica. O TelEduc é um ambiente de educação a distância desenvolvido pelo Núcleo de Informática Aplicada à Educação (Nied) e Instituto de Computação (IC) da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp). Esta pesquisa utiliza o dispositivo teórico Análise de Discurso (AD) da escola francesa para apreender os sentidos das palavras dos sujeitos da pesquisa, considerando as condições de produção nas quais os discursos foram construídos. Além da AD, como fundamentação do objeto de estudo, apropriamos de teóricos que nos possibilitaram discutir conceitos: em Castells (1999) e Schaff (1995), globalização e sociedade da informação; em Laval (2004) e Delleuze (1992), capitalismo e neoliberalismo; em Peters (2004) e Belloni (1999), educação a distância; e teóricos da AD: Pêcheux (1999), Orlandi (1996), Roure (1996), entre outros. Quanto aos objetivos, as análises mostraram que a maioria dos alunos entrevistados apresentavam processos de significação decorrentes do contexto sócio-histórico-ideológico no qual se encontram inseridos. Assim, eles atribuem sentido a esta modalidade educacional com relação à possibilidade de aproveitar o tempo. Eles também apresentaram em seus discursos marcas lingüísticas que apontam para falta do professor, do colega, da sala de aula. Um outro processo de significação apresentado pelos alunosprofessores desta pesquisa faz referência ao controle proporcionado pelas ferramentas tecnológicas na educação on line.
