Abstract
e but de ce travail est de réfléchir à propos de la formation de l'identité national chez les oeuvres Volkswagen Blues (1984) du romancier québequois Jacques Poulin et A Jangada de Pedra (1986) de l'écrivain portugais José Saramago, en utilisant comme soutien le théoricien Stuart Hall, qui afirme que la construction identitaire correspond au proccès d'un ensemble des faits historiques et sociales. On fera un parcours historique pour essayer de comprendre comment a été formulé le mythe national québequois ET celui de Portuga, et comment ces mythes réapparaissent dans les récits choisis. Ensuite, on entreprendra, sous la perspective du materialisme lacanien, nottament les theories abordées par le philosophe slovène Slavoj Zizek, un lecture des deux romans, en faisant une problématisation du déplacement dans les oeuvres, et le rapport entre la nationalité et la continentalité, c'est-à-dire la recherche d'une identité en commun, nord-américaine dans le premier roman, et ibérique dans le deuxième.
