Introdução: Sabe-se que a progressão da Doença de Parkinson (DP), associada as situações de tarefa dupla, afeta a capacidade dos recursos cognitivos necessários para a manutenção da eficiência e segurança da deglutição. Objetivo: Verificar se há o efeito da tarefa dupla no nível e no tempo de EOP na deglutição dos indivíduos com DP. Método: Um total de 576 deglutições editadas de exames de videoendoscopia da deglutição (VED) de 16 indivíduos, de ambos os sexos, em distintos estágios da DP conforme a escala Hoehn & Yahr (H&Y) modificada, idade entre 64 e 85 anos (Média ± Desvio padrão: 72,4 ± 6), triados quanto a cognição por meio do instrumento Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). Estes indivíduos foram submetidos a VED, nas condições de DI e DTD e realizou-se análise do nível e tempo de EOP das deglutições. A VED foi realizada por um médico otorrinolaringologista, com a oferta das consistências padronizadas em níveis 0 – alimento líquido fino; 2 – alimento líquido levemente espessado e; 4 – alimento líquido extremamente espessado, conforme o International Dysphagia Diet Stardartization Initiative (IDDSI). A análise do nível do EOP foi realizada com a aplicação da escala de classificação para escape oral posterior na VED e a análise quantitativa temporal por meio de um software específico. A análise estatística foi conduzida de forma descritiva e inferencial por meio do programa SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Aplicou-se o teste Exato de Fisher para comparar o nível de EOP nas condições de DI e DTD. Aplicou-se o teste de Mann-Whitney para comparar o tempo de EOP nas condições DI e DTD. O nível de significância adotado foi de 0,05 (5%). Resultados: Quanto ao nível de EOP, houve diferença estatisticamente significativa na consistência nível 4/ volume 10 mL, para o nível V (DI = 12,5%; DTD = 29,2%) (p-valor = 0,044), na consistência nível 2/ volume 5mL, para o nível III (DI = 45,8%; DTD = 25,0%) (p-valor = 0,033). Em relação ao tempo em que o EOP ocorreu, houve diferença estatisticamente significativa para a consistência nível 4/ volume de 5mL (média de: DI = 912ms e DTD = 2,044ms) (p-valor = 0,007). Conclusão: Houve ampla variação do nível do EOP na mesma consistência de alimento para as diferentes condições de deglutição. Quanto ao tempo em que o EOP ocorreu, houve interferência da tarefa dupla, para as consistências nível 4 e 2, no volume de 5mL. Portanto, os achados quanto a análise quantitativa temporal indicaram que à medida que o volume das consistências espessadas de alimento, maior foi o tempo de EOP durante a deglutição na condição de DTD nos indivíduos com DP.
