O objetivo do presente estudo é analisar o efeito de medicação antiparkinsoniana nos parâmetros espaço-temporais da marcha de indivíduos com doença de Parkinson (DP), comparando indivíduos com e sem congelamento de marcha (CM), levando-se em consideração as possíveis diferenças clínicas entre eles. Vinte e dois indivíduos com DP compuseram um de dois grupos, com CM (CM+, n = 11) ou sem CM (CM-, n = 11). Parâmetros espaço-temporais da marcha foram analisados em duas sessões experimentais: uma em estado ON da medicação (1 h após a última ingestão da medicação) e outra em estado OFF (~12 h após a última ingestão da medicação), sendo a ordem delas intercaladas entre os participantes em cada grupo. Em cada uma das sessões também foram aplicadas as seguintes escalas de avaliação: parte II e III da Unified Parkinsons Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS II e UPDRS-III), Hoehn e Yahr (H&Y), questionário Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) e escala Mini-Teste de Sistema de Avaliação do Equilíbrio (Mini-BESTest). As escalas clínicas foram analisadas utilizando o teste de Wilcoxon para comparações intragrupo (efeito de medicação), e teste U de Mann-Whitney para comparações intergrupo (efeito de CM). Modelos lineares de efeitos mistos 2 (grupo: CM+ X CM-) X 2 (medicação: ON X OFF) foram aplicados para investigar se os resultados dos parâmetros espaço-temporais diferiam entre grupos e medicação, controlando (Modelo 2) ou não (Modelo 1) para diferenças entre grupos encontradas nas características demográficas e escalas clínicas (UPDRS-III, H&Y), duração da doença e dosagem da medicação. Em ambos os modelos de análise, os resultados mostraram que velocidade de deslocamento, comprimento da passada e do passo foram significantemente maiores na condição ON do que na condição OFF, para ambos os grupos, e significantemente menores no grupo CM+ do que no grupo CM-, independentemente da condição de medicação. Esses resultados indicam que a medicação induziu à melhora da marcha de forma equivalente entre os grupos com e sem congelamento de marcha.
