Abstract
O presente estudo objetiva conhecer repercussões do uso contínuo de crack na estrutura e na dinâmica das relações familiares. Trata-se de um estudo de caso de abordagem qualitativa, que utilizou entrevista semiestruturada e instrumentos do Modelo Calgary de Avaliação Intervenção em Família (genograma e ecomapa). Foi realizado com um membro de uma família indicada pela Unidade de Saúde da Família de um bairro, em um município do interior do Rio Grande do Sul. Identificou-se que o uso de crack provoca distanciamento entre os membros da família, além de comportamentos adotados de forma a preservar a integridade do grupo familiar. Percebemos os limites impostos pela rede restrita de serviços de saúde e de equipamentos sociais, sendo estes fatores que repercutem na dinâmica do mundo familiar. Concluímos que o fenômeno do uso de drogas no mundo contemporâneo e o papel dos serviços de saúde e da sociedade nesse contexto é um desafio evidente e permanente, e devem compor o cenário do debate das políticas de saúde no âmbito local e nacional.
