Abstract
微量元素は代謝調節に不可欠な栄養素であり, その欠乏は多様な臨床症状を引き起こす. 特に基礎疾患を有する小児においては, 微量元素濃度の定期的な評価が重要である. 小児は消化吸収障害, 摂取不足, 排泄異常などにより欠乏をきたしやすいが, 初期は無症状のことが多く, 臨床症状が出現するまでに時間を要するため注意を要する. 微量元素欠乏の早期発見と介入は, 不可逆的な影響を防ぐうえで極めて重要である. 本稿では, 小児における微量元素の代謝と欠乏に関する最新の知見と臨床的課題について概説する.
