Abstract
This article examines the sectoral structure of UNESCO Chairs in Russia and provides a comparative analysis with the International Standard Classification of Education and the Sustainable Development Goals. This approach allows us to highlight both the strengths of our network of chairs and those areas of education and professional training for which there are no corresponding UNESCO Chairs at all, or for which their presence is very limited. The conclusion is drawn about the relative balance of departments in relation to ISCED and the SDGs. Improving the effectiveness of departments and their contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires special attention to areas such as food security, gender equality, and promoting productive employment.
