Abstract

A surrogate modeling approach combining neural networks and a pole-residue-based transfer function(Neuro-TF) is applied to model a fourth-order hybrid waveguide filter, aiming to reduce the computational cost of conventional electromagnetic (EM) simulations under complex scenarios. By using poles and residues as physical intermediaries, the method enables the neural network to learn the relationship between electromagnetic responses and geometrical parameters, ensuring faster and more accurate modeling. In this paper, the multilayer perceptron (MLP) method is also used to the same example for comparison. Experimental results demonstrate that the pole-residue-based Neuro-TF method achieves higher modeling accuracy than MLP and less time than traditional EM simulations.
