Dans Les villes de papier , Les ombres blanches et Quand viendra l’aube de Dominique Fortier, une poésie paysagère et une pensée des lieux s’écrivent à travers la marche des couleurs et le mouvement des marées. Cette poésie et cette pensée échafaudent un univers de sensations croisées qui fait la part belle aux lumières, aux odeurs, aux teintes inattendues, une synesthésie qui se déploie à partir du peu, dans laquelle « les livres s’abreuvent à l’eau des fleurs ». Mais de la salinité du sang à l’invention du bleu, des relevés de terrain qui empruntent au chimiste et au géomètre, aux compositions délicates de l’archiviste et de la biographe, c’est aussi l’ après du deuil qui est mis en scène, étalé en couleurs et versé dans l’espace. C’est cette architecture tenace et fragile de l’exhumé et du posthume dont je me propose de retracer la piste dans cette oeuvre qui a pour motifs principaux et le blanc et le pâle, et puis le bleu du chagrin.
