Este artículo reseña la experiencia educativa de un grupo de estudiantes de quinto grado al trabajar con el proyecto Chiringas que hablan. Este promovió el estudio crítico de los derechos de la niñez desde su génesis, con las aportaciones de Januz Korczak, hasta los establecidos en la actualidad por la UNICEF. Asimismo, se presenta una serie de actividades de lectura y escritura que culminan en un producto de expresión artística: la creación de chiringas que representen los derechos de la niñez. De este modo, el proyecto evidencia cómo se combinan los saberes para desarrollar, en los estudiantes, diversos modos para comunicarse y elevar su voz, en este caso, mediante la expresión del arte.
