Abstract
El principal objectiu d!aquest article és investigar quina fou la posició del franquisme davant les sol·licituds rebudes durant les dècades dels seixanta i setanta per a incorporar al català un dels artífexs de la renovació de la literatura italiana que, ja des d!abans de la seva mort el 1950, havia esdevingut un dels exponents de la modernitat i la llibertat intel·lectual, i que era conegut també per la seva oposició al feixisme italià (havia estat empresonat pel règim de Mussolini, s!havia afiliat al partit comunista i havia col·laborat en publicacions antifeixistes). Així, hem examinat els expedients de censura conservats a l'Archivo General de la Administración (AGA) d!Alcalá de Henares amb el fi de determinar, a partir de l!anàlisi de les prohibicions, del tipus de supressions i dels arguments adduïts pels censors, el grau d!intervenció en les edicions catalanes de les obres de Pavese aparegudes durant la dictadura després del 1962 (any en què s!aixecà la prohibició de publicar traduccions d!altres llengües).
