The increasing adoption and rapid development of the Internet of Things in different industries has led to great cybersecurity challenges on a global scale and different countries have developed different policies and frameworks to mitigate the risks associated with IoT security. This paper examines a comparative analysis of IoT cybersecurity policies for several different countries, including the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Singapore. This analysis highlighted the security requirements, mechanisms and key guidelines applied in each country and also highlighted the commonalities, strengths and weaknesses while some countries emphasize strict regulatory compliance and others focus on voluntary safety standards. The analysis reveals a global shift towards design safety principles, risk management, security vulnerabilities, as well as consumer protection measures, and makes recommendations for improving the Internet of Things.
