Abstract
Theological issues can be separated by Scripture, Trinity, kingdom, and eschatology, loci that reflect critical dispute among Christians in the United States and Canada. However, such issues do not exist in a vacuum, interrelated as they are with contemporary issues, as well as with a history rooted in the Doctrine of Discovery, practices of slavery, and other practices of violence against individuals and minoritized groups. Theology in North American must also reckon with its discourse of normativity framed by institutions of power and the modes of interpretation adopted by them. A multiplicity in understanding of Scripture, Trinity, kingdom, and eschatology can only proliferate a discourse that beget worlds of meaning, possibility, and action.
