Abstract
PREMIO NACIONAL DE HISTORIA DE ESPAÑA 2021: Este libro ha recibido el Premio Nacional de Historia de España 2021, otorgado por el Ministerio de Cultura de Esapaña. El profesor Antonio J. Díaz Rodríguez aborda de manera esplendida este complejo negocio curial del mundo ibérico en la Edad Moderna. Un tema muy poco investigado en la historiografía, donde solo se habla de él cuando se estudian las carreras profesionales de los eclesiásticos o el caso de algunos personajes históricos relevantes. Estamos, pues, ante un libro donde se mezcla la historia económica del crédito y la fiscalidad pontificia con la historia de la Iglesia, las instituciones, la movilidad social, los discursos políticos y de crítica moral, la literatura del Siglo de Oro, el análisis de las estrategias familiares, las aspiraciones de ascenso e integración de las minorías conversas, etc. Como señala su autor, no es posible interpretar la realidad del sur de Europa sin tener en cuenta los múltiples y variados intereses que intervienen en el mercado curial, desde el labrador rico y el cura parroquial a las estrategias de la nobleza por mantenerse en el Poder, pasando por el valido del rey. Todos participan de alguna manera en la mercantilización de la gracia papal. En conclusión, estamos ante una obra que abre nuevas vías a la investigación histórica. Cómo citar: Antonio J.
